Rosebud shawl - Roosinupu sall

This is my next project. rosebud-faroese-style-shawl, you can find it on ravelry. The photos are from ravelry as well, my yarn is also quite dark red, it is half done. You have to wait a little to see it... ;)

Pattern is from theat book:
The written instruction in English has been quite a struggle for me. I think it is written for idiots. Yes, nice to mee you, that`s me! I like charts, but the charts there are not really complete. You have to read the written part as well, as following the charts...

See on minu järgmine projekt.  rosebud-faroese-style-shawl (roosinupu-fääri saarte-sall), selle mustri leiab ravelry`st. Pildid on ka sealt pärit. Minu poolik sall on veel varrastel, minu piltidega läheb natuke aega... ;)
Muster pärit siis sellest raamatust, mis üleval toodud. See ingliskeelne salli kirjeldus on tõeline matemaatika. See raamat on idiootidele. Jah, meeldiv tutvuda, mina see olengi!
Skeemid on olemas, kuid need pole täielikud. Seeda oleks tulnud kududes ka kirjutatud juhiseid järgida. Mida ma tegin natuke liiga hilja...

Leaf life - Leheelu sall

Here is an other shawl. It is made to warm the shoulder of one very classy lady! Pattern is my own creation. I called the shawl "Leaf life", because the colors are like all the colors of leaf`s lifetime - from green to mustard yellow...

Shawl is 55 cm wide and 152 cm long.
Sall on 55 cm lai ja 152 cm pikk.

Siin on järjekordne sall, tehtud ühe väga stiilse vanadaami õlgade soojendamiseks! Muster on enda leiutis.

Salli nimeks sai "Lehe-elu", sest värvides on terve lehe eluea värvid - rohelisest kuni koltunud sinepikollaseni.

Passionate red - Kirglik punane

Here is an other shawl. Mohair Gold, 20% mohair, 20% lana, 60% acrylic. The suggestion was to knit with needles size 4,5-5 mm. But I chose 3,5 mm and I like the result.
Pattern is Tree of Light. You can find it on ravelry.

Siin on järgmine sall. Mohair Gold, 20% mohäär, 20% lana, 60% akrüüli. Lõnga soovituseks oli kududa varrastega suuruses 4,5-5 mm. Valisin varda suuruseks 3,5mm ja mulle meeldib see tulemus.
Mustriks on Tree of Light. Leiad selle siit ravelry`st.

Muhu slippers - Muhu pätid

Here are some pics about footwear (can`t really call them slippers) made in Muhu embroidery.
When there were no shoes available people made their own!
Siin on mõned pildid jalanõudest, mis Muhu tikandis tehtud.
Kui jalanõusid polnud saada, tehti need endale ise!
(fotod pärit Käsitöökeldri poest Tartus)

Here is also one photo of older slipper.
Siin on üks vanemat sorti näidis.

I like this embroidery. My mother likes sewing. Who knows what might  turn up from this combination...?
Mulle meeldib tikkida, emale meeldib õmmelda. Kes teab, mis sellest koostööst sündida võib...?

And some more works from the same handicraft shop in Tartu:
Veel töid samast käsitööpoest Tartus:

Tiny purses, for 23 euroes.
Väikesed rahakotikedes, 23 euro eest.
A little cover for your glasses.
Prillitoos.

Just a little sample of flower arrangement.

Embroidery - Muhu tikand

I got fascinated my Estonian embroidery, in Muhu style. Muhu is an island of Estonia, in the west part.
I started to look for fine wool that this embroidery is done with. I found a lady in Muhu who is selling those! Here you can see that for 5 euroes I got 49 different colors!
Mind hakkas paeluma tikkimine, täpsemalt siis Muhu tikand.
Hakkasin siis otsime peenvillaseid lõngu, millega Muhu tikandit tehakse.
Leidsin lõpuks ühe Muhu daami, kes neid müüb. Sain 5 euro eest 49 värvitooni!

Here is my second sample. I tried to make a strawberry.
Siin on mu esimene proovitöö, maasikas.
It ended up as a wintercoat for my smartphone!
Tegin sellest enda nutitelefonile talvekasuka!

Here is the second one. It will be coushin for pins.
Siin on teine proovitöö. Sellest tuleb nõelapadi.

Here is Estonian national flower - cornflower.
Siin on Eesti rahvuslill - rukkilill.

I am born in spring, when the tulips are blossoming.
Olen sündinud kevadel, tulpide õitsemise aegu.

And of course I had to buy a book by Leida Kirst.
Muidugi tuli endale soetada ka Muhu tikandi raamat, Leida Kirstu poolt.

In Muhu embroidery the main emphasis is on one flower, the other flowers are her escorts. And author of the book says that the light is always coming from the left so you make darker colors to the left. And Muhu embroidey is quite like painting with needle. ;)
