Lily of the valley - Piibelehekiri
I have done several lily of the valley patterns. This is the regular lily of the valley.
Olen teinud erinevaid piibelehekirju. See on siis tavaline piibelehekiri:
This is lily of the valley with a leaf, from merino wool.
See on piivelehekiri lehega (Ingrid Rüütli kiri), tehtud meriinovillast:
And here is the same pattern, made from sheep wool.
Ja siin on sama muster, tehtud puhtast Eesti lambavillasest:
But this one is new one I have not tried before! Main part of the shawl was ready in 24 hours, I was quite surprised!
Kuid seda piibelehekirja lillekesega tegin esimest korda. Salli põhiosa valmis 24 tunngia, olin ise ka imestunud...
Shawl is 70cm wide and 160cm long.
Sall tuli 70cm laiune ja 160 cm pikkune.
I added a flower to the edge lace pattern.
Lisasin lillekese äärepitsile.

Kootud loor - knitted veil
I was asked to knit a veil for a bride. The wedding ceremony was on the 1st of November. It took some time for the bride to find out which pattern to choose. Final choice was a leaf pattern, and the edge pattern was with hearts.
Mul paluti ühele pruudile loor kududa. Tseremoonia oli 1.nov 2013. Pruudil läks aega, et valida loori muster. Lõplikuks valitus osutus lehe muster, servapitsiks väiksed südamed.

I finished making the main part, and the edge lace. I was about to stitch it together when this tiny pony was brought to me, for dog sitting. Two hours later I tried to find the knitted pieces I have put on the table but the main part was not there. I looked around, and I finally found it in the hallyway torn to pieces... So I started knitting again, at 6 pm, and finally finished knitting 1 am. I blocked it and went to bed.
Kudusin valmis salli peamise osa, ning ka äärepitsi. Tahtsin hakata neid just kokku õmblema, kui mulle see väike poni hoida toodi paariks päevaks.

This is testing piece that went to the bride for final evaluation.
See on proovitükk, mis läks pruudile lõpliku otsuse tegemiseks.
I woke up at 6 am, and stitched them together and put it on a 7 am bus to Tallinn, capital to Estonia. It arrived on time!

Haapsalu shawl - Haapsalu sall
My colleague`s mother had a birthday on 28th of September. So I made this Haapsalu shawl from merino wool, with a paw pattern.
Töökaaslase emal oli 28.sept sünnipäev. Seega sai tehtud tellimise peale Haapsalu sall meriinovillast, käpakirjaga.
Shawl is 70 cm wide and over 140 cm long.
Sall sai 70 cm lai ja üle 140 cm pikk.
Without any nupps/ bobbles and with the simplest edge pattern.
Ilma nuppudeta, lihtsaima äärepitsiga.

New shawl with Sofia pattern - uus sall Sofia mustriga
I tried this new pattern from the book "The Haapsalu scarf", by Estonian knitters Siiri Reimann and Aime Edasi. Modification of Sofia pattern.
Proovisin uut mustrit Eesti kudumisraamatust "Haapsalu rätt", Siiri Reimann ja Aime Edasi. Sofia mustri uus variant.
This is the real color or the closest to the real one... Yarn is Estonian fine wool.
See salli värv esimesel fotol on kõige ligilähedasem päris värvile. Lõngaks Eesti peenvillane.
Shawl is 140 cm long and 50 cm wide (55" long and 20" wide).
Sall on 140 cm pikk ja 50 cm lai.
At first I wanted to make lace edge too. But so many people told me not to. That it already looks beautiful as it is.
Esialgu oli plaanid ka äärepits teha, kuid paljud ütlesid, et sall on ilus juba nii nagu ta on.

Lily of the Valley pattern with a leaf 2
Because I did not like the fact my previous shawl with the same pattern was too small, so I took Estonian sheep wool and started to make a bigger one! Here it is:
It is quite heavy, and it will be very warm. Final measurements are 60 cm wide (24") and 142 cm (56") long.
Yellow
It all started from this yellow merino lace wool. At first I made this shawl, pattern is called "Mystic forest" (you can find the pattern here). Anyway, after finishing the shawl it took me some time to find the right edge lace pattern for it.
So here is the shawl after blocking with lace edga pattern. I did knit it directly to the shawl, although according to traditional Haapsalu shawl the lace edge is always knitted separately and later stitched to the main part of the shawl. I guess they did not have circular knitting needles then, did they?
So I had a little yellow yarn left after making this wonderful bright yellow shawl. So here is a little sample of a pattern I chose for it:My plan is to knit a kimono style top. Yellow upper part (because there is not enough yellow yarn to knit all the top from it), and lower part with different colours. Here is the sample of what I had in mind:
After blocking the yellow parts and stitching them together I made the waist part as well. Waist part is knitted with circular kneedles.
But I am quite not happy with the way it turned out! :( I guess it might end up as a dress, but the idea is not quite ripe yet!

Baby dresses
I loved the buttons I found for that dress:
Here are red and cute kitten-buttons:
And there was some yarn leftover from the "leaf and peacock scarf" and I made a narrow lace. Then I noticed that the lace is almost transparent and I cannot really see the flower pattern. So I made an other lair in dark red, so that you could see the pattern better.
And the lace part was too small for something big (for grown-ups I mean), so I got some nice purple-black-red yarn to match it!
And I must say baby Alice looks much better in strong colors than in usual baby-girl pink...Here are red and cute kitten-buttons:
