Embroidery - tikkimine

I think my interest in embroidery started from crocheting in summer and autumn 2011.
Mu huvi tikkimise vstu tekkis vist heegeldamisest 2011 aasta suvel ja talvel.

I first made this Vogue flower-scarf.
Kõigepealt sai tehtud selline Vogue`ist pärit lillesall. 

And then the scrf needed a bag. I got my inspiration for it from this blog.
Ja siis oli vaja slli juurde kotti. Inspiratsiooni sain siit blogist.

This is the first version. There is jumper I used.
See on esimene versioon. Kampsun, mida kasutasin (XL kampsun viltus pesus päris tugevaks)

Siin olen mina komplektiga. Seda kannab mu õde Teele :)

Ja siin on üks roosa-punane komplekt sõbrannale Tartus.

Muhu slippers - Muhu pätid

Here are some pics about footwear (can`t really call them slippers) made in Muhu embroidery. 

When there were no shoes available people made their own! 

Siin on mõned pildid jalanõudest, mis Muhu tikandis tehtud. 

Kui jalanõusid polnud saada, tehti need endale ise!

I like this embroidery. My mother likes sewing. Who knows what might  turn up from this combination...?
Mulle meeldib tikkida, emale meeldib õmmelda. Kes teab, mis sellest koostööst sündida võib...?

Embroidery - Muhu tikand

I got fascinated my Estonian embroidery, in Muhu style. Muhu is an island of Estonia, in the west part. 

I started to look for fine wool that this embroidery is done with. I found a lady in Muhu who is selling those! Here you can see that for 5 euroes I got 49 different colors!

Mind hakkas paeluma tikkimine, täpsemalt siis Muhu tikand. 

Hakkasin siis otsime peenvillaseid lõngu, millega Muhu tikandit tehakse. 

Leidsin lõpuks ühe Muhu daami, kes neid müüb. Sain 5 euro eest 49 värvitooni!

Here is my second sample. I tried to make a strawberry.
Siin on mu esimene proovitöö, maasikas. 

It ended up as a wintercoat for my smartphone!

Tegin sellest enda nutitelefonile talvekasuka!

And of course I had to buy a book by Leida Kirst.
Muidugi tuli endale soetada ka Muhu tikandi raamat, Leida Kirstu poolt.

In Muhu embroidery the main emphasis is on one flower, the other flowers are her escorts. And author of the book says that the light is always coming from the left so you make darker colors to the left. And Muhu embroidey is quite like painting with needle. ;)
Muhu tikandis on rõhutatud ühte lille, teised on tema saatjad. Ja pilte tehakse autori sõnul nii, et valgus langeb vasakult, seega tuleks tumedamad värvid teha paremale poole. Ning Muhu tikand on üks paras nõelaga maalimine. ;)

Lovely colors 2

I showed in one of my earlier posts the 2 jumpers that I wanted to make into one. Actually, I made a new year`s promise for 2012 NOT to buy myself any more new clothes, but reather make them myself or buy from second hand or charity shops. There are plenty of things in the world already! And I have to say I succeeded! I have not bought any new clothes for myself this year!

Varasemas postituses näitasin 2 kampsunit, millest tahtsin ühe teha. Tegelikult andsin endale aastaks 2012 uus-aasta lubaduse, et ei osta endale enam ühtegi uut riideeset, pigem ostan kasutatud asju või teen endale ise riided. Maailmas on ju asju juba küll ja rohkemgi veel... Ja tuleb nentida, et olen oma lubadust hästi pidanud - polegi ühtegi tutt-uut riideeset endale ostnud!

So there is the 1 jumper. I tried some Estonian embroidery - from the island Muhu, it is called Muhu embroidery. 

Siin on siis see kahest üheks õmmeldud kampsik. Proovisin peale teha Muhu tikandit. Algne muster pärit Leida Kirsi raamatust "Muhu tikand", natuke lillekesi ise juurde leiutatud.

That is one sleeve, I don`t know what to make on the other one. I just don`t want the sleeves to be identical!

Spring pumps - kevadised tennised

 I went to town the other day. And I cannot stop myself from going into Zara and Mango shops because they are filled with lacy clothes, and there are plenty of floral patterns. Yes, I walked in to get some inspiration. I must say I got inspired already before that, having reading LaBastidane`s blog and finding those shoes:

And it worked! A moment later I was the happy owner of white pumps

  and I got an idea what to do with them. So here are my own personalized pumps!

From one of the charity shops I also found a perfect dress for 1 pound. Those are one of my favourite colors, so I am happy!

Ükspäev käisin linnas. No ei saa ju mööda kõndida Zara ja Mango poodidest, kus vaateakendel säravad pitsist ja suurte lillemustritega rõivad. Ikka astusin sisse ja lasksin silmal puhata. Tegelikult pean tunnistama, et inspireerusin juba paar päeva varem LaBastidane blogi uurides ning tema tikitud pilte-asju imetledes.

Midagi läks poes ringi käies vaimusilmas ka käima, sest hetk hiljem olin valgete tenniste õnnelik omanik ning oligi idee olemas, mida nendega teha!

Sekkarist sain ka kena suvekleidi 1 naela eest ning kevadine-suvine garderoob täieneb... Olin ammu sellisest kleidist unistanud! Ja kleidi värvid on ka mu lemmikud!
